The read

If you are here for poker, the ecosystem is unmatched. The casino is a cross-sell. It has fewer studios than dedicated rivals, promotions built around poker volume and a desktop client heavier than the browser competition.

02

Where it earns its score

Unrivalled poker liquidity and a trustworthy cashier.

  • Best poker ecosystem available
  • Reliable, well-run cashier
03

Where it costs you

The casino floor is generic and the reward structure barely rewards non-poker play.

  • Casino catalogue is generic
  • Rewards skew hard to poker

Desk notes in full

PokerStars Casino leverages its iconic poker pedigree to deliver a differentiated casino experience. The $1,500 welcome match is generous, and the platform's live casino offerings feature unique game-show-style productions that set it apart from standard offerings. The poker background translates to excellent table game quality and fair play reputation. Strengths include innovative live dealer formats, strong brand trust, and legitimate US licensing. Weaknesses are limited geographic availability (only three US states), occasional game selection limitations compared to dedicated casino operators, and the poker focus means casual casino players may find less breadth. For players in regulated US markets who value heritage and unique live formats, PokerStars Casino is an excellent choice.

Who runs PokerStars Casino

PokerStars was founded in 2001 by Mark Scheinberg and his father Isai as an online poker platform. The site became the world's largest poker network through the 2000s. Amaya Inc (now The Stars Group) acquired PokerStars in 2014 for $4.9 billion. Flutter Entertainment took ownership in May 2020. PokerStars Casino launched as the brand extended into online casino gaming in regulated markets, bringing 25 years of poker expertise to casino entertainment.
